Question #135
What does TBA/TBD mean?
Answer
The terms TBA (To Be Announced) and TBD (To Be Decided) are frequently used in the retail industry when new products are announced. There are various reasons why retailers and manufactures may use these terms which may include marketing strategies but primarily to account for unpredictable factors in availability and cost of materials and scheduling of subcontracted manufacturing services. Spartan RC may occasionally use the terms TBA/TBD in the months prior to a new product launch. This indicates that we are unable to provide any additional information including rough estimates. Typically the price and availability of new products will be announced within the two weeks prior to their launch.
